Welcome to my Instant Pot Bean & Chilli Recipes. Celebrating 7 genius way to use the Instant Pot Bean & Chilli function. These are all incredibly delicious, really simple to make and bring a quick meal to your dinner table.
I have to admit I am a huge fan of beans. Growing up you had them all the time, but they were never in the way that we should eat them. They came in a can along with tomato sauce, loads of salt, even more sugar and was served on top of buttery bread.
I know super bad for you!
Thankfully I haven’t experienced them like this for a number of years. Instead when I have beans I cook a can of white beans (often haricots) with some fresh tomatoes, loads of seasoning and often sometimes with some extra vegetables too. It is always delicious and perfect for going on top of a jacket potato or with some chicken breast.
When it comes to chilli though, this is something I rarely eat. Not because I don’t like it because I do. But just because Dominic doesn’t care for spicy food and there is always something else that I would rather eat.
But what I wanted to do today was to share with you 7 genius ways to cook beans and chilli using the beans/chilli function. We are always sticking our Instant Pot on manual rather than exploring the settings. After all we all paid good money for the Instant Pot and all those extensive buttons so why not use them a little bit more?
The Instant Pot Beans & Chilli Function
The bean and chilli function on the Instant Pot is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. Throw in all your ingredients, add your stock and then let the Instant Pot pressure cooker do the work for you.
What I prefer most is to add a little liquid (so that it can come to pressure) and then if it is too watery at the end, when it has finished cooking, to then use a thickener to get it to the right thickness.
Or alternatively if you are doing a chilli with jacket potatoes to balance the potatoes over it and then let them cook at the same time. Then get them out first and prepare them before you did with the chilli.
Or you can of course use this function for a delicious Bolognese as it doesn’t just have to be chilli. In honesty, the possibilities are endless….
