Welcome to our review for the Gense Mini Pancake Pan.
Now this is something brand new to me and I have never seen anything like it before. I was brought up on the frying pan if you ever wanted to have an omelette or a pancake. Or in the case of my grandparents the same frying pan that looked like it had been around since the Second World War!
But when you look at a frying pan you are often limited and you’re lucky if you can fit two pancakes in a pan and this is so annoying especially if you have lots of mouths to feed.
On another note, I am more a crepes girl than a pancake girl so having small pancake inserts is perfect for me.
Gense Mini Pancake Pan
It wasn’t until I was sent this product that I actually realised it was real and that you could get amazing mini pancake pans like these.
Off with the packaging and we were there cooking our favourite pancakes. We all have favourite flavours and mine is rather weird. Maybe that is because I am pregnant? Well I could say that but I ate them like that before!!!!
When Dominic makes mine they are cooked plain. Then they come with some Greek yoghurt and pure maple syrup. They are finally rolled up just like the crepes that we get when we go to the Portuguese fair.
They are simple but stunning and so full of flavour. I just want to eat more and more of them. But thankfully due to the eggs they fill me up quickly and I am soon feeling really stuffed.
But looking at the Gense mini pancake pan, the frugal part of me is thinking about all the amazing things I can make in it and they are not limited to the traditional pancakes.
Here is what I plan to cook in my mini pancake pan next:
Fritters – I absolutely love my fritters. This especially applies to the delicious courgette fritters that Dominic makes me. There is often a fight over them as they are often in different shapes and sizes but with this we could have them of all equal size and the arguments will end.
Spanish Omelette – I am a huge fan of the Spanish omelette. You know the one I am talking about….the one where you have lots of sliced potatoes and onions and how it tastes like heaven on a plate? I even did it as part of my Spanish breakfast last month on the blog and could eat it everyday.
Onion Bhaji – OMG I love this and they taste just as good in the mini pancake pan as an alternative to the traditional pancake. Because of the batter it works perfectly with a heavy duty pan like this mini pancake pan.
Kids Parties – If your kids are between the ages of 3 and 9 it is perfect for birthday parties or sleepovers. Your kids can get involved in the flavours that they have in their pancakes (or crepes) and you could dress up the table with lots of different flavours for them to put on their pancakes and they would have a ball!
Why Buy The Gense Mini Pancake Pan?
Well you have heard my favourite ways to use it and how it is perfect for Sunday breakfast for those crepes and for those pancakes. Well not only that but the product is rather good too.
I always think of my love for Marks & Spencers and my hatred for Primark. I know when I buy something from Primark (not that I have done for a long time) that it will last as week at the most, where as the dressing gown (and all the other things I have) from Marks & Spencers will still be great in a decade.
Essentially you get what you pay for, but when you look at how cheap this product is you will wonder what the catch is. So if I haven’t enticed you yet then here is more…
